Is anyone wanting a visit from Santa this year? Do you know what you would like him to bring you? If you’ve answered YES to both questions then read on. I had a chat with Santa on Monday and he is starting to get really busy with his elves in the North Pole right now making toys for all the children who have been really good this year. If you want to be one of the first in the queue for a visit from Santa on Christmas Eve then pop along to the Barton Bash on Saturday 13th October at the Neighbourhood Centre between 12 noon – 4.30pm and write him a letter with your list – as long as its not too long as he has to make toys for thousands of children all around the world. And don’t forget to include your address so he knows where to visit, and I will make sure he gets all the letters when I see him again at the end of October. He may even leave you a little gift at the Bash if you’ve managed to write a good letter!!
Pimp Yer Bike will take place on Tuesday 23rd, Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th October between 10.00am – 3.00pm with free lunch provided each day for everyone who attends. The course is absolutely FREE to attend and for everyone who turns up on all three days they will be given a FREE lock and FREE lights for their bikes. Aimed at anyone aged between 10 – 15 years of age and you must have your own bike to bring along to the course. You will be shown how to strip down your bike, carry out a full service and undertake minor repairs then re-assemble your bike before you spray paint it in colours of your choice !!This will all be carried out under supervision, and we will need parental consent for you to bring along your bike.
Cooking Up a Feast will take place on Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th and Friday 26th October between 10.00am – 1.30pm for anyone aged between 9 – 15 who wants to learn the basics of cooking, and how to cook up a feast on a low budget. The course is FREE to attend and everyone will be given free lunch each day. On Day 1 you will decide what you would like to cook so design your menu followed by preparation of a shopping list of ingredients required. You will also find out about food nutrition. On day 2 you will have a trip to a local supermarket using the minibus so that you can buy all the necessary ingredients for your menu choice. You will also have the opportunity to make fresh smoothies from scratch. On day 3 this is when it all comes together so you will spend time prepping all your ingredients and cooking your chosen meal. Finally you will sit down and enjoy the results of all your hard work.

You can either pop in and see Sharon in the BCA office, you can call Sue on 07866460446 or you can email Sue on firstname.lastname@example.org .
